National Skilled Nursing Care Week, May 8-14
Creating and Nurturing Connections

As human beings we have a natural yearning to connect. Studies have linked people with strong social relationships to many aspects of positive health outcomes, especially among older adults.

Skilled nursing care centers all over the country and their staff commit to providing a high-level of care for their residents. This has never been more evident than the last two years during the pandemic. In addition to protecting and caring for their residents around the clock during a time of limited visitation and social distancing, staff stepped in and served as family members and friends to ensure that residents had the essential social connections they needed.

The 2022 theme for NSNCW, held, May 8-14, will celebrate the essential role that skilled nursing care centers and staff play in Creating and Nurturing Connections for their residents.

This theme fits perfectly with the resident centered care philosophy adopted by Sunny Hill Nursing Home where residents are seen as an individual making their own choices and having control over their daily lives.

Special events are scheduled for the residents and staff every day to celebrate this weeklong annual event.

Sunshine Holiday Gift Bazaar

In an abundance of caution due to current state of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Friends of Sunny Hill Board Members have made the difficult decision to cancel our annual Sunshine Holiday Gift Bazaar and Luncheon which was scheduled for Friday, October 29, 2021 at Sunny Hill Nursing Home of Will County.

We are still working on rescheduling this event in 2022. Please check back at a later date, or follow us on Facebook for the most current information.
